Seb Saldarriaga, Intern
Counseling Intern
Sebastian "Seb" Saldarriaga Rodriguez is a bilingual (English and Spanish), gay, Latino, cisgender man. I understand how layered and personal our stories can be, especially when navigating systems not built for everyone. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe to show up fully without judgment. Whether you are exploring identity, recovering from trauma, navigating complexities in relationships, or simply trying to make sense of your emotions, I will walk alongside you with curiosity, warmth, and respect.
I draw from person-centered and feminist-informed approaches to support clients in reconnecting with their inner strength, challenging internalized messages, and moving toward a more authentic, empowered life. I value fostering equality and shared power in the therapeutic relationship, where clients feel respected and in control of their process. I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients through concerns related to identity, relationships, family and cultural expectations, and systemic pressures. I also work with clients facing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and emotional or relational stress. I hold a growing interest in sex therapy and am actively learning how to support clients navigating intimacy and sexual wellness under close clinical supervision.
I am pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. I previously served as a bilingual volunteer counselor with the Crisis Text Line, where I completed over 200 hours of direct crisis counseling. Before entering the counseling field, I led global marketing teams. I championed inclusion in corporate spaces, a path that deepened my commitment to creating affirming environments where people feel seen and valued.
I believe healing happens in connection with ourselves, others, and the community. I aim to co-create a space where you feel heard, empowered, and never alone in your growth.
Sebastian is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern under the clinical supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S.
