Ryan Duda,
Intern

Counseling Intern

Ryan Duda (he/they) is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern who offers a warm, affirming space for clients exploring identity, relationships, sexuality, self understanding, and life transitions. He is especially interested in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, adolescents and young adults, creative people, and anyone whose life does not fit neatly into predetermined boxes.

As a queer and genderqueer counselor, Ryan understands that identity is complicated, personal, and rarely tidy. He believes therapy should be a place where clients can show up fully without having to edit themselves into someone more acceptable or easier to explain.

Ryan approaches therapy as an honest and collaborative process. He believes clients are the experts on their own lives and that counseling is not about fixing something broken or handing out prefabricated answers. His work is grounded in person centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, helping clients understand their patterns, challenge beliefs that no longer serve them, and develop tools that actually fit their lives. His style is warm, curious, direct, and comfortable with the messy parts of being human.

Ryan is also developing a focus in sex therapy and welcomes conversations about sexuality, intimacy, relationships, and identity without shame, judgment, or treating normal human experiences like dirty secrets. His background in music, game development, and other creative industries gives him a particular appreciation for creative people, unconventional paths, and lives that resist easy categories.

Ryan is pursuing his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. He practices under the clinical supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S.
