Counseling Intern

Katy is passionate about working with individuals and couples experiencing desire discrepancies, libido concerns, and/or infidelity. She has a particular interest in helping premenopausal women experiencing low libido. She enjoys helping clients develop healthy communication styles, build trust, and learn more about consent and boundary setting in their relationships, including CNM and kink-friendly.

Katy’s counseling style is collaborative and solution-focused. She aims to support your journey by walking beside you, handing you the tools needed to create a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, regain power over your experiences, work toward your goals, and ultimately create the life you desire.

Katy is pursuing her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from William and Mary. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia.

Katy chose ATC for her internship site to further enhance her knowledge and skill set with sex therapy. Katy is currently under the supervision of her William and Mary faculty supervisor and under the clinical direction and supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S.

In her free time Katy can be found spending time with her husband, three children, and three dogs. She enjoys hiking, yoga, running, and just about anything that keeps her outdoors. Family game nights are a favorite, though not as enthusiastically supported by her children.
