Hannah Townsend
MFT

Sex and Relationship Therapist

Hannah is passionate about working with clients of all sexualities, sexual practices, and backgrounds surrounding topics related to intimacy, childhood trauma, sex/ sexuality concerns, and relational discord. Hannah believes these concerns are a result of underlying factors caused by intergenerational family systems, societal shame, challenges with coping with mental health during stressful events, lack of true understanding/ connection with self, and lack of access to helpful resources for guidance.

Hannah’s approach to therapy is centered around challenging narratives clients hold that impact their self expression, sexual/ sensual expression, and interconnectedness in their relationships by helping clients reauthor their lives shaping narratives that better encompass their new breadth and depth of uniqueness. Hannah aspires to foster hope, happiness, authenticity, and intimacy so people can shine their light with their new, empowered way of being.

Hannah is a prepare/enrich facilitator which assists her in working with couple relational concerns by identifying their relationship strengths and gain awareness of underlying dynamics that are affecting relational interactions to help couples develop skills to improve their relationship intimacy.

A quote she absolutely loves and lives by is:

'Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.’- Marilyn Monroe

Hannah earned her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University and completed internship training at ATC. She also holds two bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Sociology from Georgia State University.

She is underthe clinical direction and supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S.
