Emma provides individual therapy and sex therapy in Atlanta, Georgia. The impact of intersectionality on mental health and sexual health is important to Emma. Therefore, she sees the importance of helping clients improve their own sexual and racial identity.
Often times, Emma's clients struggle to overcome shame, guilt, and embarrassment that is associated with their racial identity and sexuality. Emma’s ideal clients are ready to face cultural messages that have told them they cannot be themselves. Her clients are ready to make sense of their feelings and thoughts about who they are so they can begin to live their life in the most authentic way.
Emma is committed to understanding multiculturalism and advocacy issues within the counseling profession. Becoming a clinical mental health counselor is a career growth for Emma as she previously worked with sexual assault survivors and provided sex education for low-income individuals. Sexual health and wellness have always been important social issues for Emma.
Emma is a licensed associate professional counselor in Georgia, a national certified counselor, and she is EMDR trained through the Personal Transformation Institute. She earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She is currently under the direction of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S for sex therapy training and under the supervision of Natalie Elliot, LPC, LMFT, NCC, CST, CPCS.
Emma's current session rate is $100 per 50-minute session with a sliding scale rate of $85 per session. Emma is able to see clients using Cigna insurance.
