Ileana Dolomite, Intern
MFT Intern
Ileana is a Marriage and Family Therapy intern who works with individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds. She helps people who feel caught between their family’s traditions and the new culture they’re living in. Many of her clients are from immigrant or bicultural families who are trying to balance old and new ways of life.
Ileana supports clients as they face challenges like cultural identity, family pressure, and relationship conflicts. She helps them find ways to stay true to their heritage while also building strong, healthy relationships with partners or family members from different backgrounds. Her goal is to help people feel more confident, connected, and at peace in their lives.
Ileana uses an integrative, client-centered approach that includes:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- helps individuals understand and change unhelpful thoughts.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)- helps individuals feel closer to their partner and/or family.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy- focuses on strengths and what’s working.
Narrative Therapy- helps individuals tell their stories in ways that make them feel stronger and more empowered.
She has a B.S. in Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University and a CCAP certification in addiction studies from Sober College. Ileana is currently earning her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University. She is supervised by Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S, and a clinical faculty supervisor at ACU.
Ileana is passionate about helping people feel understood, respected, and empowered, especially those who are learning to live between cultures.
