I’m a gay, ex-Christian, cis man who used to be a youth pastor, missionary, and all-around "winner" at purity culture in high-control religion (think Shiny Happy People). I gave my heart and soul to ministry and had to start all over at the age of 26 when I finally decided to come out. Now, I’m thriving with my partner here in Atlanta after growing up in Colorado Springs and living abroad.

I know, firsthand, how beliefs impact everything, from the shirt I wear to the terror of existence, from the values I hold to the sexual partner(s) I choose, from the anxiety in my chest to the hope in my mind. Our beliefs shape everything, and they can cause real harm and healing in us, especially when we don't intentionally examine them. That’s the important journey I wish to join you on.

I believe therapy is truly a partnership. You are the expert of your own story. Together, we tap into the wisdom and strength you already possess. It’s just that life has a habit of burying us all a bit. The work is excavation, and all your parts are truly welcome and worthy of love. 

My therapeutic “style” is one of curiosity, empathy, warmth, and collaboration, using tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Systems Theory, Social Construction, Motivational Interviewing, Parts Work, and Somatic Knowledge. I’m also well-versed in the Enneagram and Myers-Briggs if you find those frameworks helpful.

As for my credentials, I’m pursuing my master’s in social work from Colorado State University, under the supervision of Courtney Geter, LMFT-S, CST-S.
